Ch2: Form

Primary Solids

Primary solids are the three dimensional figure which is generated from the two dimensional primary shapes. Spheres, cylinders, cones, pyramids, and cubes are the major primary solids. They are generated by the revolution of circles, triangles, rectangles, and squares.

Dimensional Transformation

Dimensional transformation is a diminished form from an original. The shape and dimension will be changed within the original one, but its identity will be kept as the original form.
Subtractive Form

Subtractive forms are created by subtracting certain part from a solid form. We are able to find two or more different shapes within a three dimensional figure. A shape is shown on the positive form, and negative space going through the form becomes the other shape.

Additive Forms

Additive forms are created by adding forms to the original one. Depending on how they are put together, it becomes centralized form, linear form, radial form, clustered form, and grid form. The picture above is an example of the linear form.

Formal Collision of Geometry
Formal collisions of geometry means when two shapes are combined and creates a new look of form. One above is showing that a square is located on the center of the circle and creates a new shape in the form.
